Marijuana Bill Introduced in California
A California Assemblyman has introduced a bill that would legalize marijuana in the state and let the state tax it in a similar manner to alcohol. This comes in response to the budget crisis California has been facing. I've been preaching this all along. Granted, marijuana can be grown more or less undetected at home, but if passed, it could seriously increase California's revenue.

Hey, good idea, may be they could legalize cocaine, heroin and other addicting drug. That way they will receive more tax dollars, jobs and etc.
ReplyDeleteAnother redeeming factor will be all the medical positions that will be created by trying to keep all the dope heads alive!
well, yes, doctors would make money on dope heads that way. maybe that would be a better and cheaper use of money than the way we're doing it now- paying jails to house them.
ReplyDeleteit's not the government's job to keep drugs out of the hands of consenting adults. it's not something i want to pay the government to do and it's not something i think it has a right to do.

ReplyDelete1) Marijuana is not addictive.
2) It is physically impossible to overdose on marijuana. You would suffocate before you could inhale enough marijuana smoke to OD.
3) Heroin and cocaine are actually more "legal" right now than marijuana is. Heroin and cocaine are both deemed by the United States government to have medical applications as is, whereas the government, despite many clinical trials and mountains of evidence, deems marijuana to have zero medical uses.
4) By legalizing marijuana (and when most people talk about legalizing marijuana, they really mean decriminalizing, i.e. not prosecuting anyone in possession of only enough for themselves) you save money by not having law enforcement spending so much time chasing down and imprisoning people for petty marijuana use. The people in this country who have used marijuana far outnumber those who haven't. Dropping that would save millions and billions of dollars.
5) Meth is actually a much bigger problem than any of the drugs listed above because it can be made in the home and is completely unnatural. It's made out of chemicals and cleaners and random crap that can be found around the house. Speaking of chemicals, you know what else has a lot of really bad for you chemicals in it? Cigarettes....
wow xtemaa29734x33, that was the fastest clearest version of that i've read from anywhere. leaflet that one.
ReplyDeleteWhen you know the facts, it's pretty easy to throw something together...
ReplyDeletewell spoken by people that look up only facts to prove their theory.
ReplyDeleteI believe there was a report out that 90% of users of hard drugs started out using pot. They moved on to heroin, and the others for higher and stronger highs. I believe that cigarette companies have been sued for many millions of dollars. And yes cigarettes are bad for you,but take many years to kill unlike the mentioned drugs which can kill you within hours. Maybe all those that think drugs should be legal should try to sue the drug cartels in Mexico and the other rogue countries in the world who supply drugs. I'm sure all the innocent people murdered in the US, Mexico and the rest of the world, and human suffering caused by these nice, hard working, drug traffickers was and is necessary is order to keep the profits high. I'm sure that they are forgiven because we know it's a tough to make a make a buck out there. Maybe that is why no one was or is fearful of the cigarette companies they did not murder their rivals and innocent people.
I know the story that alcohol is the same as drugs. Just one question, would you want your loved ones just laying around the house or in some alley,"needle house,or park" with a needle in her or his arm?
90% of hard drug users used pot before hard drugs. ok, what does that mean? and then ask how many hard drug users used alcohol before hard drugs. does it mean the same thing about alcohol? people don't die sudden deaths from marijuana. people can and do in fact die suddenly from alcohol. people wouldn't be murdered if drug selling was legal. the war on drugs isn't saving people- addicts are afraid to get help because it's criminal, illegal traffickers make more money than they should and sometimes kill people for it since they can't have legally-binding contracts, illegal sellers are more likely to sell to underage people than someone with a license would be. stuff like that. and loved ones wouldn't be in alleys if drugs were legal. all our drunk stoned and blitzed relations could all be together with us on our sofa. your dream come true.
ReplyDeleteI stated that hard drug use, I not mention marijuana because it is obvious from the comments written by the people involved with the comments do not consider marijuana a drug. I also stated that I know most of the pros and cons of alcohol versus marijuana. Most people do not have a alcohol beverage to get high. Are you going to tell me that people use marijuana to be sociable and they enjoy the flavor? Many alcohol beverage drinker some times enjoy the flavor and the socializing so much that they just over indulge, are you saying the same thing is true of people using drugs? In many, if not all the States, addicts can get help from the state welfare departments. Arrests can not be made for possession unless one is actually in possession of narcotics or illegal drugs. If the addict does not possess drugs at the time they are requesting help they will not be arresred. I believe that several states do allow marijuana to be grown and sold for medicinal purposes, a license and prescription required.
ReplyDeleteThis whole situation would be funny if not for the fact that drugs, along with several other things, are contributing to the demise of our country as we know it.
